To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will have a Bachelor of Nursing qualification and 2 years clinical experience in a primary healthcare setting. Based at the Otago Corrections Facility healthcare centre you will become part of a diverse and supportive team of healthcare professionals. This is a casual position which offers a great opportunity for you to have a focus on male primary health care.
This role has 2 key components: holding clinics within the health centre which operates on an appointment based triage system and completing medication rounds within the facility. This is a truly unique opportunity where you will be involved in the many aspects of general practice including assessment, treatment planning and implementing plans of care.
This role offers professional enhancement through educational opportunities and a Professional Development Recognition Programme.
As a professional you are open to working within a multicultural environment, you have a certain robustness while respecting others' backgrounds. An understanding of culturally appropriate delivery of health services to maori is important.
You are confident and competent in your clinical ability, self managing and happy to work independently. You will be a NZ registered nurse who is confident working with patients who may present with complex health issues.
The health centre operates a rostered shift system over 7 days from 6.30am-8.00pm so flexibility is needed for this casual opportunity.
