Clutha Leader is a weekly community newspaper delivered to more than 8000 homes in Lawrence, Milton, Balclutha, Clinton, Kaitangata, Owaka and Tapanui and surrounding rural areas.

This 124-year-old community newspaper is coming under the new ownership of Allied Press Ltd, and we are looking to expand our reporting team.

We are seeking a qualified junior reporter with an ability to produce quick, tight and compelling news stories. The successful applicant will be self-motivated, tenacious and have a passion for news. Ability to find local stories, juggle tasks, meet deadlines and write engaging accurate copy is essential. You will have an eye for photography. Video and website skills are desirable.

It is essential that you have a full driver’s licence. Given the nature of the role, occasional evening and weekend work will be required.
