The Gore District is anticipating exciting times. A new $260m premium nutritional plant is currently being constructed and will bring a level of unprecedented growth to the District. Preparation of a growth strategy is also underway in response to emerging issues, prior to a review of the district plan.
Following a restructure, we now need an exceptional senior and graduate planner to assist in the delivery of a challenging and rewarding resource management work programme, across
our consent and policy functions. These opportunities genuinely provide a chance to shape the long-term future of the District.
Working with the Council's Principal Planner, the senior planner will take charge of the primary resource consenting functions of the Council, but will also be heavily involved in policy work. This
position would suit an experienced consent planner looking to widen their RMA skill set, whilst retaining and developing their
consenting expertise.
The graduate role will have an opportunity to work on all aspects of the Council's resource management functions, from public enquiries, minor consents, research for policy decisions and monitoring. This role will provide an unrivalled chance to experience all the RMA has to offer for a recent or experienced graduate planner.
Our district will provide you and your family a rural city lifestyle unrivalled by most. Our community and recreational facilities are exceptional. With ski fields, national parks and major urban
centres within driving distance, it is a wonderful place to live.
Visit www.goredc.govt.nz/your-council/job-vacancies/ for the job description and application form.

Applications close with the Human Resources Manager, Susan Jones, at 5.00pm on Wednesday 7 February 2018.
