The West Coast Primary Health Organisation (PHO) is a notfor-
profit community trust that plans, coordinates, funds and provides primary health care for West Coasters.
The PHO’s mental health team works collaboratively with general practices, schools, West Coast District Health Board and other community groups, to provide assessment and brief evidence based intervention for people from 12 years of age who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues.
The West Coast PHO is looking for a suitably qualified mental
health practitioner (Psychologist, Counsellor or Registered
Nurse) to join our mental health team based in Greymouth.
The successful applicant will provide assessment and individual
or group brief intervention counselling.
To secure this position you will need to have:
• Professional qualifications, accreditations and registration with
a NZ professional body.
• Experience working clinically with youth (from 12 years), and
adults using evidence-based brief intervention strategies, eg,
CBT, ACT.
• Ability to triage and assess requests for inclusion in Brief
Intervention Counselling programme
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, including
the ability to engage eff ectively with clients, general practice
teams and other health professionals.
• A current and full NZ driver’s licence.
The West Coast PHO’s focus is to promote and enable better
health for the population on the West Coast. With this in mind
staff working at the PHO are expected to lead by example and
